Kariyarra Aboriginal Corporation is governed by a Board of Directors made up of 11 Apical Directors, representing each of Kariyarra’s Apical families. The Directors are appointed by Kariyarra members and each hold a three-year term.

Under the Corporations Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act 2006 (CATSI Act 2006), Directors have five legal duties:

  1. Duty of care and diligence
  2. Duty of good faith
  3. Duty to NOT improperly use position or information
  4. Duty to disclose material personal interests
  5. Duty to NOT trade while insolvent
